We invite you to join us in the beautiful city of Edinburgh for the 3rd International Symposium on Animal Functional Genomics (ISAFG). This event is being held from 7 – 9 April 2008 at the stunning Edinburgh International Conference Centre. This meeting brings together two important conference series, the European Farm Animal Functional Genomics Conference (ARK-Genomics) and the International Symposium on Animal Functional Genomics (Michigan State University), to present opportunities to take stock of the current International position in animal functional genomics, identify areas for collaborations and develop new resources.
The ISAFG event will be run in parallel with the launch of the EBRC, a new world class animal bioscience centre. There will be a joint genomics session on Monday 7 April with an expected delegate number of 1000. The events will run in parallel thereafter.
The ISAFG conference will be structured around the following themes, each with invited international speakers covering major topics in animal functional genomics: “Genetics and QTLs”, “Bioinformatics and Data Mining”, “Animal Health”, “Functional Genomics meets Physiology”, “Animal Genomics in Industry”, “Proteomics”, “Systems Biology”. The keynote lecture by Professor John Quackenbush will highlight functional genomics and its impact on Systems Biology. Additionally there will be 2 open sessions and a poster session. As before, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking.
